Terms of Use

Last updated: 12.09.2026 13:18

These Terms of Use govern your use of Career Ladders (https://careerladders.org), a platform operated by Labor Bilişim Medikal İnş. Yay. Tic. Ltd. Şti. (the “Company”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, accessing the platform through a school or organisation, or using any of its services, you accept these Terms.

1. Definitions

  • Platform — the Career Ladders services offered at https://careerladders.org and through the related mobile applications.
  • User — a natural person holding an account: a student, parent, teacher, school counsellor, administrator or individual subscriber.
  • Organisation — a school or institution using the Platform for its students and staff.
  • Package — a digital right of access to specific modules of the Platform for a defined period.
  • Inventory — an interest, aptitude, values or personality instrument delivered through the Platform, together with its report.

2. Scope of the service

Career Ladders is a software service for educational and career guidance. Depending on the modules included in your package, it provides inventory delivery and reporting, occupation and study-programme information, comparison and choice tools, goal and assignment tracking, planning of class guidance activities, event management and delivery of learning content.

Which modules are open depends on the package purchased by an individual User, or on the entitlements held by the Organisation. We may develop, change or discontinue modules; where a paid package is narrowed during its term, Section 12 applies.

3. Nature of inventory results

Inventories, reports, match rates and recommendations provided through the Platform are guidance material. They are not a medical diagnosis, a psychological or clinical assessment, or a psychiatric opinion, and they do not replace one.

Results are one input supporting educational and occupational decisions. Final decisions about study choices, placements and careers rest with the User and, where applicable, with the Organisation’s qualified guidance staff. We are not liable for the outcome of those decisions.

Data about occupations, study programmes, quotas and admission scores is drawn from official sources. We take reasonable care to keep it current, but we are not responsible for changes, delays or errors in the underlying official source. The binding information is always the publication of the competent authority.

4. Accounts

Information you provide when registering must be accurate, current and your own. You are responsible for the security of your account and for keeping your password and verification codes confidential. If you believe your account has been used without authorisation, notify us at [email protected] without delay.

An account belongs to one natural person. Sharing, transferring or using an account on behalf of another person is not permitted.

5. Children

The Platform contains sections designed for secondary-school students. Where a User is a child, the account is opened either by a school or organisation as part of its own parental information and consent process, or, for individual use, with the knowledge and authorisation of a parent or legal guardian.

Where processing is based on consent, we rely on parental consent for children below the age set by the applicable national law (between 13 and 16 years under Article 8 GDPR). For accounts created by an Organisation, informing parents and obtaining any required consent is the responsibility of that Organisation. A parent or legal guardian may at any time request that the child’s account be closed and the associated data erased.

6. Organisation accounts

An Organisation is responsible for creating accounts for its staff and students, assigning their roles and permissions, and ensuring that use of the Platform complies with its own rules and applicable law. Staff access to student data is limited by the roles the Organisation assigns.

We are not party to disputes between an Organisation and its Users. When an Organisation’s subscription ends, the access its Users held through it ends with it.

7. Packages, fees and term

Access to paid modules is granted through packages valid for a defined period. Current packages, their scope and their prices are shown on the purchase screens, inclusive of applicable taxes.

The term begins when payment is confirmed and the entitlement is applied to your account, and runs for the number of days stated in the package. Access closes automatically at the end of the term; automatic renewal applies only where it is expressly stated at the time of purchase.

When you move to a higher tier, the remaining term of your current package is offset according to the rule shown on the purchase screen.

For purchases made through the App Store or Google Play, the store is the seller. Cancellation, refunds and invoicing for those purchases are governed by the store’s own terms.

8. Consumer contracts

Purchases made by consumers through the Platform are also governed by the Pre-Contractual Information and the Distance Selling Agreement, which set out the right of withdrawal and its statutory exceptions for digital content.

9. Acceptable use

When using the Platform you agree not to:

  • copy, reproduce, publish, sell or disclose inventory items, item pools, reports or other content to third parties;
  • scrape the Platform with automated tools, reverse-engineer it, or attempt to obtain its source code;
  • access data you are not authorised to access, or attempt to circumvent security measures;
  • register using another person’s identity or false information;
  • place a load on the Platform that disrupts its operation, or otherwise misuse the service;
  • upload or transmit unlawful content or content contrary to public order.

10. Intellectual property

The Platform’s software, interface, design, texts, inventories, item pools, reporting models, images and trade marks belong to the Company or its licensors. These Terms grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Platform within the scope of your package and for your own use only; no ownership is transferred.

Content you upload remains yours. By uploading it, you grant us the permission needed to process it for the purpose of providing the service.

11. Personal data

How we process personal data is described in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy, which form an integral part of these Terms.

12. Availability

We make reasonable efforts to keep the Platform available and free of defects. Interruptions may nonetheless occur for maintenance, updates, infrastructure failure, attack or force majeure. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where possible.

Where an interruption is attributable to us and lasts an unreasonable length of time, the remaining term of a paid package is extended by the duration of the interruption.

13. Limitation of liability

Our total liability under these Terms is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect damage, loss of profit, loss of data, or the consequences of your educational or occupational decisions.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or any liability that cannot be limited under mandatory consumer law.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms. For serious breaches, suspension may take effect without prior notice; otherwise you will be given a reasonable opportunity to remedy the breach.

You may close your account at any time. Closure does not affect records we are required by law to retain for a statutory period.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes are announced through the Platform or by e-mail before they take effect. Continuing to use the Platform after the announcement constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Turkish law, and the courts of Ankara have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, this choice does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-law provisions of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings before the courts of that country.
