Occupations dictionary: what a day in the job is like
What is a day in this occupation like, what education does it take, where does the path lead? Open the one you wonder about, narrow by the fields you like.
The occupations dictionary is a catalogue that describes every occupation in plain language: the daily work, the education it requires, the working environment and where the path leads later on. Knowing an occupation's name is not knowing the occupation; the dictionary shows the day behind the name.
You narrow the list by field of interest, working environment or education path. If you have completed your inventories, the match rate with your profile sits next to every occupation too; as you browse the dictionary, you see which occupations are close to you.
What a day is like
Every occupation page describes one day in that job: where it is done, with whom, what most of the day is spent on. This is the section where you decide whether you would like it.
What education it takes
The education path leading to the occupation and the university programmes that open onto that path are linked on the page. You move in both directions, from occupation to programme and from programme to occupation.
Find the one close to you
You filter the dictionary by field of interest; if you have an inventory profile, you sort by match rate. An occupation you never had in mind can rise to the top of your list.
